Little Bit of Help
"Little Bit of Help (LBoH) is a volunteer program at the University of Alberta that provides students with exposure to research within multiple healthcare settings at the institution. This unique experience allows undergraduate students to learn more about clinical research through a co-curricular program that couples as a didactic clinical research curriculum with “hands-on” mentored training. Students volunteer their time to assist in the completion of research studies providing a low-cost framework for conducting clinical research.
The student volunteer role will vary from project to project. Some projects may be as simple as a medical chart review and data extraction. Other projects include data management such as data entry, filing, photocopying, chart preparation, and making study kits. More involved projects will require the volunteer to identify and recruit potential research candidates."
