"The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) Youth Committee works in association with CNIB to provide Canadians who are blind or partially sighted with the support they need to see beyond vision loss, build their independence and lead the lives they want.

The CNIB Youth Committee supports the purposes of CNIB by raising awareness for vision health, conducting fundraisers, and volunteering in various CNIB events and programs, such as the Vision Mate program to provide one-on-one sighted assistance to people in the community who are blind or partially sighted.

The CNIB Youth Committee also aims to promote philanthropy and leadership development in its members by offering opportunities to volunteer with vision-related organizations and to individually plan and direct awareness and fundraising events."
