University of Alberta Triathlon Club

"The University of Alberta Triathlon Club is a social group which fosters an environment where members can develop, practice, and improve their triathlon skills.
Triathlon is a swim-bike-run endurance sport; our club holds regular coached training sessions. Beginners are welcome. Our club is open to people of all abilities, and offers an amazing social network and support system for athletes of all levels. Whether you have never been in a pool before or are a former junior elite athlete, training for a sprint or an Ironman, we are a large club that is dedicated to suit everyone's needs.
Our club offers swimming sessions, triathlon specific bike workouts, group outdoor run session, core workouts, and in the winter we offer cross country ski sessions. Our bike workouts are held indoors in the winter in the revving room, and in the summer we hold group rides in and out of the city. Our coaches are volunteers with years of experience who share a dedicated love for the sport.
Throughout the year we gather for monthly social events. These range from meeting for pizza after workouts, to a Christmas party, to BBQ's in the summer.
Racing is not mandatory, but it is the goal of our Annual Training Plan (ATP) to prepare you for at least one triathlon in the spring or summer. Our members, however, do not limit themselves to triathlons only- mountain biking, XC skiing, cross country running, road biking, cycle cross racing, and Xterra events are often raced by club members in addition to triathlons."
