The U of A Badminton Club is a recreational club for players of all ages. We meet twice weekly and also host a variety of tournaments and social events throughout the year! Drop in is available for a fee. Registration is through the Recreation Services Customer Service desk in the Van Vliet Centre. Spaces are limited.

University of Alberta Swim Club

The University of Alberta Swim Club (UASC) provides an opportunity for students to stay active, improve their swimming skills, and meet like-minded people on campus in a casual setting. The club will provide regularly scheduled pool time in the University of Alberta Aquatic Centre on a weekly basis. Membership is open to all intermediate and advanced swimmers, and practices will be led by certified instructors.

MOD Contemporary Dance Movement

MOD is a student-directed, senior-level dance company that holds auditions for dancers with intermediate-advanced levels in the discipline of contemporary dance. This company of 25 members total works every week to maintain technique and flexibility, choreograph and direct dance routines in a variety of disciplines, and host fundraising events and social outings to team-build and make meaningful connections within the academic year.

Debate Society

The University of Alberta Debate Society, established in 1908, is the oldest university debating society in Western Canada, as well as the oldest club on the U of A campus. The UADS offers a unique opportunity to increase knowledge of current events, foster public speaking skills and enhance the ability to think on your feet.

Cheer Team

The U of A Cheer team competes within Canada and the USA as a co-ed level 6 team. We practice 2 times a week and are involved in many events in and around campus.
